Global Context: Personal and cultural expression
Research Question: How do Indian stereotypes really affect different people?
For my personal project, I had decided to do a podcast revolving aorund Indian stereotypes. It is supposed to be about the affect stereotypes have on people but mainly about informing others on the truth behind these stereotypes.

Motivation & Personal Interest
Whenever I would listen to people talk about India, I would here false claims. This was something that I wanted to change because I knew that they were wrong because I have studied while growing up and stereotypes can be created with these claims. Stereotypes were made years ago but it still affects many people today. Not just Indians but stereotypes in general. It can cause a lot of problems. I know quite a few people who went through a lot of trouble just because of how people saw their culture or their background.
Process taking action
During the action phase of this product, I had to schedule times where my guests were available and could take out 20+ minutes of their time. I had done a couple interviews with grandparents, parents, friends, father's co-workers, etc. I found a couple articles, history books and websites for understanding the true meaning behind stereotypes, stories and more. I found a couple websites for creating my criteria based on how podcasts are made. When it came to recording, I recorded from my phone and uploaded it onto soundtrap (a music/podcast editing website)
Process and Planning
When I started my Personal Project, my original idea was to make blue prints of a "perfect house" based on a form sent out by mail to neighbours, parents, etc. But soon after I understood that that would be extremely difficylt and it wouldn't be accurate because many people wouldn't participate and I wouldn't be able to get it too far out. So instead I decided to do something a bit more personal; Indian stereotypes. I was not too sure about what exactly I would do with this idea until I listened to a podcast about being yourself. So my final idea was to make a podcast about Indian stereotypes. There were quite a few problems in the beggining because I was unable to find proper sources for my research. There were close to no books and very little websites. But I found that history books and interviews would also be quite valuable. I recorded my episodes week by week but one of my guests was quite uncooperative so I had to change them last minute, which turned out to be quite beneficial to me because we had a lot in common and with the new guest there would be a varied guest list (part of the criteria)
